Important SSL Announcement
Apple has announced that its browser Safari will no longer accept new SSL HTTPS security certificates that expire more than 13 months from its creation date.
From September 1, any new website certificate valid for more than 398 days will not be trusted by the Safari browser and will get rejected. However, older certificates issued before this deadline was made by Apple, will not be affected.
The aim of this new policy is to ensure that websites use the latest and best cryptographic standards to improve overall internet security.
Shortening of the lifespan of the HTTPS security certificates will create more work for website owners in deploying and renewing SSLs every 12 months.
It is important that your System Admins are aware of this new rule, otherwise it could see your website crashing on all the iOS and macOS devices & safari browser. To meet this new Safari SSL requirement, we are now providing a PKI solution that automates the renewal process and decreases the over cost of managing and renewing SSLs.
